Assignments, Assessment, Student Number
CRG has evolved a uniform set of assignments, which is given below. It may look simple, but that is not the reality, and the students have to work hard and on a regular basis if they have to meet the expectations of the Mentors.
- CRG follows the open Textbook approach. This also means that the assignments are assessed on strict criteria.
- For Text-based studies, the students need to send in the following:
a. A summary of each Textbook [also called a Module] in your own words. The minimum size should be 1000 words, but there is no maximum word-limit
b. A thorough critique of the module where you highlight the significance as well as weaknesses of the Module. The critique can include the theology, language, style, communication, or any other aspect that you can critique.
c. Suggestion for improvement. You can suggest any kind of improvement or addition that would improve the material.
d. Explain the way in which the Module helped you or blessed you and also tell us how you would be able to use this information in your personal life and also in your ministry.
- Assignments for Audio and Video include the following:
a. Assignments should be submitted for each individual audio and video lecture.
b. The assignment includes all the components given earlier for Textbook.
- Assignments for four to five Textbooks should be sent together. We have our reasons for this policy.
- The assignment for each Textbook should contain the following information in the beginning:
Title of the Text/Module
Catalog number of Module
Your Name
Email IDs
Date Submitted
- Assignment for each audio or video lecture should contain the following information in the beginning
Title of the Lecture
Title of the CD
Your Mame
Course
Email IDs
Date Submitted
- Assignment for a whole Audio CD should be sent together
- Assignment for the whole set of Video CDs should be sent together.
- Assignments should be sent in printed format, and they are not accepted by Email. Do not try to send them by email, as our automatic filters will automatically eliminate them.
- The assignments should be printed or typed on one side of paper, single-spaced.
- Place the assignments in a large envelope, without folding them. Do not paste this envelope.
- Place the first envelope in a second one, paste it and mail to the school.

- Send your assignments via Post and not via Private courier. Indian Postal Department is highly safe and efficient in delivery of mail. We usually get the ail in our Office even if there is a slight mistake in the address or even if the address is partially mutilated.
- All postmen in India personally know their clients, and postal Delivery has become highly efficient.
- Air Mail these days pass through many safety checks. Thus wait for at least a month before you inquire about the receipt of your mail.
Assessment of Submitted Assignments
The Office passes your assessments immediately on its arrival to an examiner who is allowed up to a month to return them to the Office. You should know the following about the assessment.
- Grades are communicated to you not in the order in which you send in the assessments, but in the order in which they are received from the Faculty members.
- Once you send in the first set of assessments, you should immediately move to the nest Textbook of CD. You should never wait for the grades to reach you. CRG schools are Distance Schools, and a continuity between assessments sent and guides received will be established only after you send 3 to 4 assignments.
- The examiners assess the assessments on the basis of several points. First of all, they check if you have been able to understand the essence of the lesson, and whether you have been successful to express it in your own words. Since the examiners have done this thousands of times, they can easily come to an authoritative deduction.
- In the “critique” portion the examiner evaluates how much and how intelligently you have interacted with the course material. Some of the material as scope for improvement, and this section tells him whether you have been able to spot those areas.
- The last section where you tell how a certain course material blessed you and in what manner you might be able to use this material tells the examiner how he can help and mentor you during your studies.
- A disagreement with the stand taken in the course-material will not lower your grades or disqualify you, povided you are able to disagree authoritatively.
- A reasonable freedom of expression is granted to students within the Conservative theological position. Such disagreement should be done in an academic manner, and dissent should not be emotional in nature.
Student Number, Grades, etc
students should always keep the constraints of Distance Education in mind. In a regular school you turn in the assessments in the morning and hope to get the grades next morning. This is not the way a Distance school works. Please remember the following about CRG school.
- All our Faculty Members work voluntarily for us, and they do not get any remuneration for this work.
- This means that almost all of them work in full-time jobs to sustain themselves, and need to find additional time to work with CRG related school.
- Consequently, they need a bit of extra time to grade assignments and give them back to the office.
- Students should therefor allow a margin of time before they get their grades. However, if they follow our advice and keep sending assessments without waiting for grades, a continuous two-way flow of assignments and grades will be established by the time they send in their third set of assessments.
- The Assessments are evaluated by many, but the grades are always communicated to the students by the office.
- Grades are sent as email-attachments in a grade-chart in the RTF format. All standard word-processors can open RTF [Rich Text Format] and save into RTF format. Since RTF is not dependent upon any properiatory format, almost all word-processors find it easy to handle these files.
- Comments, if any, on the assessments are entered at the bottom of the Grade Chart. Additional comments, if any, are included in the main body of the email.
- The student ID/Registration Number and a few other information are also added to the Grade Chart when it is sent for the first time.
