I am a french-speaker (baptist pastor) living in the Province of Quebec, Canada. Being bilingual (french and english), and living now in North America, you will understand rapidly that I am surrounded by tens, hundreds, not to say thousands of biblical schools and theological seminaries here. So the embarrassment of the choice made it difficult to me to find a good and strong seminary to study the Word of God.
Being already a very conservative man in my biblical positions, it was no question at looking for seminaries which were not in that stream. So many evangelical schools and seminaries are very liberals in their outlook (especially here in North America) that many of them were put aside immediately when I did my researches in the Internet. But a very important question remained in my mind: "I am in a very isolated part of my province and the accessible seminaries are too far from my home to be enrolled in them. Morever, I knew some of them as having changed their philosophy of biblical training and I suspected to enroll myself in such schools. My theological convictions are according to the great 5 "Solas" of the Reformation and it was impossible to look for a place that would have not been that way. According to me, it was a "must".
So, I began to look at Google typing "distance conservative biblical courses" and other things like that. God allowed me to find Calvin School of Apologetics and Theology as well as Trinity School of Apologetics and Theology. When I was browsing these websites, I was amazed at what they offered, but was very suspicious especially when I saw that they were offering programs without tuition-fees. You must understand that for a North American person, free offers are often considered as bogus, poor or cheap stuffs; it is the mentality of materialistic populations as ours. So, I was not really convinced of the quality of their programs. Praying for that for a while, it was as if God invited me again towards these websites to examine them again more carefully and thoroughly.
I noticed in the "FAQ" page that we had the oppportunity to ask for neutral references from other students around the world. So, I asked to Dr. Philip to send me a couple of names so that I could verify them more thoroughly by myself. He accepted on the spot and gave me one contact in the USA and one in my own country, Canada. Needless to tell you that I was happy to have two North Americans students to refer to. So, I wrote to them to realize that my fears were not solid enough to reject Trinity School. So, I began to write a lot of emails to Dr. Philip asking many questions (ask to himself to see if I tell you the truth...) concerning their programs and the more I was in contact with him, the more I was convinced that what they offered were not cheap programs of studies, but exactly the opposite. Moreover, I am very rigorous when comes the time to verify the quality of a faculty. I noticed that most of them were already Doctors in their respective fields of expertise. At that, I must add that they offer programs recognized by an international organization in India, ICAATS (International Council for Accrediting Alternate and Theological Studies). To reassure you, it is exaclty the equivalent of our Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in USA which is not a bad comparison in and of itself!
So, I requested some free samples of their material and looked at them carefully to see and to be convinced powerfully that the programs were very high in caliber and that they matched any other programs in the same subjects offered everywhere in the world. I then enrolled myself immediately and received all the material (on CDs), founding them very good and strong in their quality. They are professionally organized. You won't find anywhere in the world something more "well-done"; believe me!
Now, a very important thing. Trinity School is not what we so often find in North America, a Diploma Mill. If you are looking for it, forget Trinity and Calvin Schools immediately. You will have to study and to work hard. Trinity is a very requiring school and grants degrees only to those who work hard to get and earn them. We do not buy or steal our degrees; we earn them. BE SURE OF THAT!
I recommend then highly Trinity School of Apologetics and Theology to everyone who would like to take some good and strong training, being willing to be working with a very conservative seminary; a thing that is so needed in our times of coming apostasy. Be sure, my friends that your school is willing to keep on the sound doctrine and not willing to fall in the so present driven-marketing approaches of our days. May the God of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ be exalted and glorify through that school for a long time ahead. Thank God, thank Dr. Philip and thank Trinity!
