There is no end to making of books on Christian Apologetics, and there should not be for truth has an uncountable number of way for being staged. And it should be stated in all possible way, for not all people are receptive to all the approaches. Some are convinced by facts, others by descriptions, and others by testimonials. Still others are convinced only by rhetoric, though only the facts should actually be used for deciding between what is true and what is false.
Since there is such a spread in receptivity, there is also spread in the way books on Apologetics present their subject and all of them ultimately aim to bring the reader to a better conviction of the truth of the Christian faith. What is more, since some people who harbor perpetual doubt against the faith are -- unfortunately -- not equipped intellectually to pass through the rigors of scientific data or logical presentation, books of apologetics that take the 'softer' approaches are always to be welcomed, so that each type of client has a product suitable for his needs.
Here, then, is a book that tries to reason out the reliability of the Christian faith through an extend testimony of person sojourn. The author came to the realization, after much examination, that the Christian outlook is the only way the world makes sense. The author is sincere, highly readable, and conveys his beliefs and discovery with force. The book can be placed with profit in the hands of those who want to know the truth, or who claim they want to know, but who would never struggle with a serious book of Christian apologetics. Many such people love such long descriptions and stories, with a little bit of data integrated in here and there as icing.
With that said, it should also be noted that this is not a typical textbook, or even topical exposition, of Christian apologetics. The purpose is to present a biographical sketch with apologetics in mind. Second, as is common in almost all western writers, this writer too has only a superficial understanding on non Christian worldviews. Thus it is easy for him to refute it to his satisfaction, but not necessarily to the satisfaction of the non Christian -- or even to the satisfaction of any Christian who has had 3 college credit hours on the Hindu worldview. Thus the book is appealing mainly to a Christian readership, and none should try to convert his Hindu friend by offering this book!
Good read for a certain kind of audience, and there are many of that kind within present Christendom.
